Autism, ADHD, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ friendly counselling sessions
I provide a friendly and professional counselling service and I work with a range of presenting issues. One area that I specialise in is autism and other neurodivergent profile. My sessions are neuro-affirmative and LGBTQ+ friendly. Being autistic and neurodivergent myself means that I can relate to, and have experienced first-hand, some of the opportunities and challenges resulting from being autistic and neurodivergent.

About me and my practice
As a gestalt relational counsellor I work with you in the here and now by focusing upon the what and the how of your experience. I do not neglect your past or your future, but instead ask you to consider the impact that your past or future has for you within the present. I am interested in how you perceive your environment and your individual context.
Establishing a connection is important so that you feel able to work with me. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to help you decide if I am the 'right' counsellor for you. Through listening to you I aim to personalise your counselling sessions to meet your individual needs. Please get in touch to discuss how we might be able to work together.
Experience
I gained a Bachelor of Science with Honours First Class in Psychology at Coventry University which sparked my initial fascination about the human mind and with the application of psychological principles and techniques.
I also achieved a Masters of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology with a distinction at Staffordshire University. I am specifically interested in the positive effects that sport and exercise can have towards an individuals emotional wellbeing. I also explored how the social identity approach to leadership can be used to enhance group functioning within sport and exercise settings.
Completing the Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Gestalt Counselling specifically developed my counselling approach that focuses upon relationships, raw experiences, the context, the here and now, unfinished business and creativity.
I have worked within more than one counselling agency including a generic counselling agency and an agency specialising within autism.
Being a mother to two beautiful children has meant that I have experienced first-hand and can relate, to a number of issues surrounding conception, pregnancy, childbirth and parenting.
I have worked within a sports development setting as a regional manager, giving me experience of working at middle management level and of working within a national not for profit organisation.
I am an autism ambassador and subscribe to the schemes ethos of improving the outcomes autistic individuals. I also believe that being autistic and neurodivergent means that I can work and relate well to autistic and neurodivergent individuals and their families.
